Bill Gordon was a legendary “Red Devil“ RV Football coach who organized Pro Day in 1998 to raise funds to support local RV educational and recreational youth programs. Each year an athlete with ties to New Jersey is honored.

Coach Gordon started coaching at RVRHS in 1953 and became one of the most successful coaches in South Jersey history. He guided the Red Devils to seven championships and two unbeaten seasons. After a 30 year career, Coach Gordon retired in 1982, with a 151-105-16 record. Up until 1998, he was Burlington County’s all-time winningest coach.

Coach Gordon was nominated for the NFL’s first High School Coach of the Year and was named one of only 5 finalists nationwide.
